How did this rivalry start between Football and Soccer?
Scott Vollandt asked:
Im not talking about teams, im talking about the 2 actual sports between american football and soccer (real football)? People keep fighting back and forth between which sport is better or tougher and people like to bash the other sport. Would you consider this a rivalry? Same thing with American football vs Rugby (pads and armor vs tough real fighting without any protection) and baseball vs cricket. People like to invade sections and trash talk the other sport! When did these rivalries start?
Is this like the war of which is the real football?

it cause mexico calls soccer futbol and it’s annoying cuz when i go to youtube and put football this or football that it gives me soccer and the whole page is filled with it so in america its called football and i dont understand why they call it a football when there sport is called soccer. Rugby is definately real football without a doubt they go head on with no pads and no fear. football to soccer though football wins without a doubt i dont like watching people kick a ball back and forth i like action and fireworks and im mexican so this it aint ****** cause why would i want a mexican screaming GOAL for 12 minutes after a ball hits a net when we do that with field goals do our annouuncers shout crazy and long *** hell no we just say he makes it in. also cricket and baseball are also different these people who make these sports want to make it a tougher sport so for instance if you got hit with a cricket ball in the head your knocked out cold but if a baseball hit you, you could injured not knocked out so the point of these sports are to make them tougher!

well both football and soccer have roots from england. in england they played rugby, and that eventually developed into football
soccer was actually played in china a couple centuries ago but it was very popular in britain. when it was brought to america, people began to use their hands instead of feet. that is when basketball came along

I don’t think it is a rivalry. American football fans could careless about soccer either which way. However it seems that there are plenty of English soccer fans that like to talk garbage about American football, but they say bad things about anything from America. Americans will talk back when it comes to trash-talking, but I have not talked to one American that ever had a bad thing to say about soccer.
