Introduction
Based at a purpose built sports and leisure facility, the Cricket  Studies program provides an integrated solution to all our young students’ needs. Our young international players enjoy the use of all the facilities available, including the fitness centre & gym, onsite Cafe Restaurant with wi-fi internet access, classrooms, I.T. Suite, synthetic and natural grass playing areas and athletics track. The sports education part of the program is also based at the venue utilising the classrooms and dedicated ICT Suite. The sports related qualification which compliments the program is accredited through the awarding body Edexcel and are offered through our accreditation as an approved training provider.

Accomodation
The program provides host family accomodation. All participants will be hosted by families that are carefully selected and checked regularly. This option includes half-board (breakfast and dinner) from Monday to Friday and full board at the weekend. Students eat a main meal with the family and are therefore brought naturally into contact with everyday english life. Cleaning and laundry services are included.

Education
With all students it is important not only to be focused on the practical cricket coaching element of the course, but also personal and academic progression. Each student is therefore automatically enrolled onto one of the BTEC Level 2 in Sport programs depending upon their length of stay*. “Sport Performance and Excellence” is the theme and links in with the practical element of the program.

* Students on the monthly program are enrolled for the accredited BTEC Level 2 unit ‘Practical Sport’, students staying for 2 or more months will study the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sport and 3 months the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport. Students on the 6 month program will study the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport.

We feel that the academic component of the program is of great importance. The structure of the qualifications allows students to return on future programs and build up their qualification portfolio and over a period of time, to gain sufficient UCAS points to enter into University.

Successful completion will allow all students to progress with their education and give them an accredited qualification to take away with them. This allows students to remain flexible regarding possible future education choices and career paths in sport and leisure or cricket related industries. The course modules have also been carefully selected in order to compliment and reinforce all aspects of the cricket training, fitness and competitive match play program. (See FAQ for program modules)

The practical element of the cricket studies program has a number of components:

Cricket Coaching (Technical)
This part of the program is run at a local cricket club with both indoor and outdoor facilities using state of the art video and simulation analysis.

The program will commence with an initial assessment of all aspects of the players abilities in batting, bowling, fielding and fitness.

Using the data gathered, individual plans will be produced to allow players to develop and improve their skills and techniques in all areas.

The sessions will consist of both 1-2-1 and group coaching sessions and will include the usage of both simulation software and video analysis.

Simulation Software
The simulation software we use allows performance tracking and instant statistics and feedback for each individual. All the data is fed back through printed reports and is available through an on-line ‘Player Library’ to refer to again, and perform in-depth analysis on-line.

Video Analysis
Video analysis provides the opportunity to help improve the technical and biomechanical aspects of an individual players techniques. Instant feedback is provided both verbally and visually and includes the production of printed reports and CD-Roms.
